Escape From The Undead
|
Escape from the Undead is an online escape room with a Zombie Apocalypse theme. It is done by the passion of doing something extraordinary and was aimed to introduce the participants that have never experienced university life to this campus. The game was set on The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus where players are divided into groups of 3 to 4 and act as the survivors. The survivors were trapped inside and will be required to gather their wits to solve puzzles and find clues within the given time to escape. Failure to escape caused the players to be “overrun and devoured” by the zombies. Aside from team-working skills, each individual’s critical thinking skill was also tested as the game went on. In the end, only one group survived and could "Escape from the Undead". Survivors will then be crowned with a cash prize during the closing ceremony. |
AMAC Induction Night - The Lost Kungfu Temple
Our Induction Night was conducted in combination with a Game Night, allowing us to achieve our event goals while keeping people entertained. We truly believed that our very own online Amazing Race set another high bar on event creativity in the campus! The event itself began with a brief introduction to AMAC, starting from its history to the martial arts classes. Participants were then divided into groups of 5 and proceeded to the game session guided by the game masters. The game involved seven different "Shaolin Temples", where a group of young warriors were sent to embark on a journey to unite all "7 Ancient Weapons" that could help them defeat the forces of evil. |
|
The "7 Kungfu Temples" —— which were the MS Teams channels, are filled with several challenges/obstacles that the warriors had to explore and complete to obtain the weapons hidden inside. The subject of the tasks was partly related to martial arts. In order to change the fate of the world, the young warriors must conquer the "7 Kungfu Temples" and defeat the evil forces in time. The first three group of warriors that could gather their power and fight their way to victory were handled prizes by the people and titled as the "Great Warrior".

AMAC's Amazing Race
|
AMAC's Amazing Race is one of the major events during the academic year of 19/20. Our goal for the event is to show that there are a lot of things that we can explore in AMAC rather than martial arts itself and to inspire people to be adventurous within their own abilities.
AMAC’s Amazing Race is a team-based competition held around the campus area which requires teams to deduce clues, navigate themselves around certain areas within the campus, and perform some physical and mental challenges. The top three teams that made their way through the stations and completed all obstacles within the shortest amount of time were then announced as the winners. Throughout the course of this race, it was observed that teams had built their cooperativeness and challenged themselves to think outside of the box. Closing ceremony took place at the end of the event where prizes were handed to the winners and some hearty snacks were served as companions. |
Nott-A-Funfair
|
Nott-A-Funfair is one of the events organized by AMAC that is open to the general public. The event was held with the aim of providing a stress-relieving activity for students and staffs around campus as well as to provide juniors the opportunity to learn various skills in event management.
AMAC has collaborated with several other clubs as well as some of the accommodation hall committees in UNM to make this event successful. This event was organized with a Pokémon theme to spark interest among students. Each club had their own booths where they were selling either products or games. During this event, a coupon system was implemented where any form of transaction was done using coupons. |
In addition to fun activities done by each club, AMAC has separately organized a Spicy Noodle Eating Challenge where the fastest participant to finish a bowl of extremely spicy noodles would win a prize. An hourly lucky draw session was also done where prizes would be randomly distributed once every hour throughout the event time. A Pillow Fight session was also held where anyone was free to smack random participants with pillows. And let’s not forget the star of the event - we were truly grateful to the Boss of UNM Chinese Stall for having a live karaoke session on stage to hype up the event. This event was no doubt one of the most interesting and unique public events done by any clubs within UNM.
AMAC Trial Classes
|
After the student recruitment, AMAC provides free trial classes where club members can join training sessions free of charge. This “promotion” period lasts up to 2 weeks and members can choose to try out whichever session to attend from the variety of martial arts provided by AMAC. This is to allow inexperienced students to discover and choose between martial arts based on their preference and style without paying a single cent. For experienced students, it will serve as a chance for them to see whether the training styles are to their liking.

Induction Night 2019
|
Induction Night 2019 is the first official on campus event AMAC has done during the academic term of 19/20. It serves not only as a platform for students to meet new friends but also for students to gain more awareness on what is AMAC and what we do. Several mini games were done during the event to help us bond with one another. Students were also able to have friendly chats and discussions with both old and new friends while indulging in the free refreshments provided.

Global Peace Foundation Volunteering
|
If you think AMAC only ever does events within campus grounds, then think again! During the Summer of 2019 to Autumn 2019, AMAC has collaborated with Global Peace Foundation (GPF) to create fun activities for children from underprivileged backgrounds. GPF is a NGO that was established in 2001 with the aim of creating life-changing wishes for the needy.
In accordance with our club’s vision that all people should have equal rights and opportunities to gain benefits from martial arts, AMAC has sent a number of passionate individuals to join in their efforts by providing self-defense training to children from different age categories. We would take time off from our busy schedules and deadlines to travel outside of campus grounds in order to share our views and experience, hoping that these children will one day grow up with wonderful childhood memories. |

AMAC Exhibition
|
AMAC Exhibition is an event held in May 2019. It was organized with the inspiration of having an exhibition/museum-themed event around campus grounds. During this event, various martial arts infographics and a variety of weapons used in martial arts were displayed neatly as if you were walking through a museum. The exhibits were accompanied by a voice recording where guests can play it to listen to a short introduction about the exhibit. At the other side of the event, we have a demo area where anyone can use certain weapons to attack a dummy target. In addition, we had Taekwondo and Aikido training sessions that are open to all. The training was led and guided by professional instructors from AMAC. |
Nottingham Ultimate Taekwondo Showdown
(NUTS)
|
The Nottingham Ultimate Taekwondo Showdown (NUTS) is a yearly Taekwondo tournament organized by AMAC where we welcome Taekwondo practitioners all around Malaysia to participate. Every year, we expect hundreds of participants all the way from Kelantan to Johor to participate in this nationwide physical event. We aim to provide a platform for Taekwondo practitioners to meet up face-to-face and challenge one another regardless of their background. As one of the largest events done within UNM, we take pride in our team's abilities to manage such a large-scale event despite of just being normal university students.
The last NUTS was organized in March 2019. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, lockdown restrictions have been a huge hurdle for us to jump over, and therefore, we were forced to cancel the event for 2 years straight. We are hoping that we could once again organize such a unique event together in the future. |
AMAC X Carnival
|
AMAC X Carnival is a one-day event held in the fountain area of UNMC. The event mainly circles around the martial arts performance competition. In addition, an exhibition featuring AMAC’s history and founding was set-up and several food trucks were gathered to attract people.
This event is meant to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of our beloved club. We value its importance because the club has only one 10th Anniversary and even though we will continue to strive hard for the club’s continuous growth, we can’t guarantee that the club may survive to its 20th Anniversary. We do it as if it’s our last. In the campus, Association of Martial Arts Clubs (AMAC) is a healthy club in the sense that we are keen on promoting a healthy lifestyle. We learn the martial arts manners such as discipline, respect, perseverance, and friendships as well. This event is a milestone for us to review how well we have been in promoting the healthy lifestyle and how far we have improved ourselves since the past ten years. |
